LOT 1024 - PHOTOGRAPH ALBUMS:  India, a group of three albums, ca. 1920s, 'Baroda Views'. 72pp. ex 76pp., 74 photos. mostly 15.7cm x 21cm, printed captions, includes H.H. Maharaja Saheb, Laxmi Vilas Palace views, public buildings, and state elephants, morocco binding, gilt title and Vividh Kala Mandir lower lh., silk e/ps., g.e., together with an album of Colonial India, 24pp., 38 photos., various sizes, the largest a group of British dignitaries seated with their Indian host, 23cm x 29.8cm, photographer Willie Burke printed name lower l.h., other images include Indian troop inspection, state trains decorated with flags, and shooting parties, morocco binding; a further Souvenir album 'Marriage Festivities of His Highness Mahendra Maharaja Saheb Bahadur: K.C.I.E of Panna, May, 1928', 5pp., 10 b/w. photographs, 23cm x 29cm, (six with holes and some damage to the card pages / mounts), decorative red morocco and gilt binding, Russell Studios, Churchgate St. Fort, Bombay, label pasted in; (3).  Estimate £150 - £200

'Mandalay', 'Dahabieh' and 'Village Arabe' photographer's name, and titled in the plates, ca. 1860, Neurdein Freres, 'Marseille Le Fort' and 'Le Chateau d'If' N.D. Phot. in the plates, ca. 1880 - 1890; J.P. Sebah, 'Etudiants', ca. 1880, other images of social events, parades, horse racing, palaces, hill stations, village life, interiors, a group potrait, and working elephants, eleven other loosely inserted photos., various sizes, the largest 25cm x 28cm, includes a group of tourists, with their guides, in front of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Giza, ca. 20cm x 24cm, ca. 1910. Estimate £150 - £200

ROYAL AIRFORCE / B.O.A.C:  a collection of Pilot's General Notes, Pilot's Flying Log Books, aircraft manuals, and related ephemera:  includes four pilot's log books, ink ownership name Gp. Capt, G.A.V.Clayton, commencing at RAF Cranwell, 2/9/ 1932, the pilot's extensive career recorded, his final log 17/12/1957, details of duties, co-pilots, aircraft, and locations including Manston, Tangmere, Aden, Basra, Calcutta, Rangoon, and Karachi:  RAF. Pocket book, Pilots General Notes, both with ink ownership name, F/Lt. A.D. Messenger, with an  Order of Service for the funeral of 'Tambi' Arthur Douglas Messenger, Air Commodore, 11th May, 1994;  Pilot's Notes General, and Instructors' Handbook of Elementary Flying Training, 1942, ink ownership name W/O. V. Minot, 115 (B) Squadron, Marham; four pilot's log books, ink ownership name Clive Beckenham Houlder, the pilot flying with British Overseas Airways Corperation 2/1/1945 - 6/8/1969; a 'Douglas' Combined Protractor & Parallel Rule, contained in original labelled, buff coloured card case, together with approx. forty aircraft manuals, 1949 - 1956 includes Anson, Mosquito, Venom, Lincoln, Vampire, and Spitfire 21, by Order of the Air Council, December, 1948, 42pp, Air Ministry Publications, containing the Spitfire's handling, checklists, two photo. foldouts of cockpit and instrument panels. Estimate £100 - £200

LOT 1947 
Sam Herman (born 1936), a studio glass vase, dated 1971, bulbous form with short neck and wavy rim, steaked in white, cream and brown and with a partial textured surface, signed and dated 1971, 19cm high. Provenance; given to the present owner by Herman in 1971 when he was a lecturer at the Royal College of Art. Estimate £200 - £300
