Over the past twelve years, Bellmans has built up a highly respected jewellery department, with three specialists from Sussex handling over 2500 lots each year. Our FGA expertise covers all areas and examples of antique and contemporary jewellery by makers such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co and Elizabeth Gage.
We are happy to offer free sale advice on single items to large collections by appointment in our Sussex saleroom or our London office. Specialist Jewellery and Watches auctions and valuations are held monthly in our Sussex Saleroom, each having a large national and international following.
Valuations take place in our Sussex Saleroom, our London office in Cromwell Place, South Kensington, and 'pop-up' valuation days across the country. Preliminary estimates can be provided via email, and we are delighted to arrange home visits. Valuations are complimentary and available online.

How to start a jewellery collection
Know what you like
A great starting place for your collection is simply knowing what it is you're naturally drawn to. Do you prefer silver or gold? What era interests you? What colours catch your eye?
Clarify your intention
It's also a good idea to know your intention when beginning your collection. If you're looking to get a lot of wear out of your pieces, you have to ensure that you choose styles and materials that are hard wearing and not easily damaged. Alterations can be made to unsuitable pieces, but this takes time, effort and money.
