In-Person and Online Jewellery Auctions
Over the past twelve years, Bellmans has built up a highly respected jewellery department, with three specialists handling over 2500 lots each year. We are happy to offer free sale advice on single items to large collections by appointment in our Sussex saleroom or our London office. Specialist Jewellery and Watches auctions are held monthly in our Sussex Saleroom, each having a large national and international following.
Valuations take place in our Sussex Saleroom, our London office on Cromwell Place, South Kensington, and 'pop-up' valuation days across the country. Preliminary estimates can be provided via email, and we are delighted to arrange home visits. Valuations are complimentary and available online.
Find Something You'll Love at our Auctions, Jewellery or Otherwise
Jewellery is one of the most emotive collector's items available on the market. By catching the light, beautiful jewels can evoke memories of people, places or times gone by.
It's no wonder that jewellery is often given as a gift to convey meaning; just look at the tradition of giving engagement or eternity rings to your loved one.
Whether it's silver jewellery, antique jewellery or modern jewellery, every piece we sell tells a story. When you choose Bellmans, you're not just buying a charming piece of costume jewellery, but a little slice of history.
Or, if you're looking for timeless accessories to complete your wardrobe, we also offer state of the art designer jewellery. Each necklace, bracelet, ring or broach is a piece of contemporary art to add to your collection or jewellery box. As Shirley Bassey once sang, Diamonds are Forever - a gorgeous stone never goes out of style.
How to start a jewellery collection
Know what you like
A great starting place for your collection is simply knowing what it is you're naturally drawn to. Do you prefer silver or gold? What era interests you? What colours catch your eye?
Clarify your intention
It's also a good idea to know your intention when beginning your collection. If you're looking to get a lot of wear out of your pieces, you have to ensure that you choose styles and materials that are hard wearing and not easily damaged. Alterations can be made to unsuitable pieces, but this takes time, effort and money.
Seek the advice of a specialist
Don't hesitate to speak to experts and get their opinions before buying and selling your pieces. If you're thinking of starting a specialist collection, please get in touch, and we can advise you on the next steps.
