Simon Garner MNAVA
Sussex Saleroom

MNAVA - Member of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers

Simon has worked at Bellmans for over fifteen years and is responsible for the Toys, Clocks, Collectables and Works of Art sales. He also has a wide general knowledge of ceramics and glass, and along with Phil Howell catalogues the European Ceramics sales. Simon also catalogues the bi-monthly Wine and Spirits auctions, and is qualified as a full member of The National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers (NAVA).

Prior to working for Bellmans, Simon studied at the University of West London, before embarking upon a management career in the London hospitality industry. A career change to Bellmans in 2001 as a saleroom porter led him to develop from general valuer to auctioneer and head of five departments.

During his down time, Simon loves mountain biking and running in the South Downs National Park.

Most Memorable Moment: discovering a German Marklin tin plate toy fort, circa 1900, not listed in their original production catalogue, that went on to sell for £8,800.

Wishful Find: anything super-rare and of original quality!
