Samantha Dunn-Davies recently joined Bellmans as a Jewellery and Watches specialist and is based at the Bellmans London office. Samantha has over twenty years auction house and industry experience, is a qualified diamond grader and a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. She is also a Member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, serving on the Arts and Antiques Faculty Board from 2003 until 2011.
Before joining Bellmans, Samantha headed a valuation team for a Jewellery and Fine Art finance company for ten years and was responsible for regulating all valuations for open market purposes. Previously she was a valuer based in the London and European Valuations Department at Bonhams Auctioneers, specialising in jewellery and was Head of Department, European and Oriental Costume and Textiles for the Bonhams Group, She was also Head of Sale for European Costume and Textiles with Christie’s.
Most Memorable Moment: Valuing a 16th Century Sheldon Tapestry, one of only four tapestry-woven maps commissioned in the late 1580s by Ralph Sheldon (1537–1613)
