Julian began his career working for an Old Master Paintings dealer in Mayfair, having graduated with a BA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Exeter, followed by an MLit in Art History from the University of St Andrews. He subsequently moved to Winchester to work for Bonhams where, with a particular interest in pictures, he sourced and valued art and antiques across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire for their London and Oxford salerooms.
After five years with Bonhams, Julian is now continuing his work in Winchester as an auctioneer and valuer for Bellmans and, along with Iain Rushbrook, is responsible for the running of Bellmans Winchester saleroom.
Most Memorable Moment: coming across a 1949 Ferrari Tipo 166 Inter Coupe on a valuation day in Bournemouth, which went on to sell for £500,000.
Wishful Find: an original war time work by Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson.
