Eleanor is Bellmans’ fine jewellery specialist and auctioneer. She joined the company in 2022, and shares her time between their South Kensington and West Sussex office, in which she hosts valuation days and home visits.

Eleanor is a qualified gemologist (FGA) and diamond grader (DGA) with The Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

Eleanor started her career in the jewellery world at an antique jewellery shop where she fine-tuned her love and knowledge of antique pieces, before moving onto Mappin and Webb, and later as an appraiser for Prestige. Previously she worked for another auction house before advancing her career and joining Bellmans.

Career highlight: discovering an Art Deco sapphire ring amongst costume jewellery that was almost thrown away, which she valued as £15,000-20,000.

Fantasy discovery: to come across a piece made by JAR either with a client bringing it in or ideally whilst out antiquing.
