Charlotte Russell

Auctioneer & Valuer

Charlotte began her career with the Sculpture & Works of Art department at Dreweatts, and after rising to run the department she remained in post for three years before leaving to head up the Pictures Department at Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood in Exeter.

Prior to joining Bellmans, Charlotte was Head of Sale in Old Masters, British & European Pictures at Roseburys, London.

Originally from the Netherlands, Charlotte studied History of Art at University College London, and later gained a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.

When not valuing and auctioneering works of art, Charlotte can usually be found listening to true crime podcasts or walking her French bulldog, Melba.

Career highlights: identifying a 17th Century Flemish tapestry as part of an early and important series, seeing it fetch £150,000; and discovering a previously unknown early portrait miniature of George Washington, first president of the United States.
