Frederick DE WIT: Londinium Florentissima Britanniae Urbs, Emporiumque Toto Orbe Celeberrimum. copper engraved and hand-coloured panorama. 59cm x 212cm, mounted on linen, on four plates with six sections of letterpress description (in Latin, Dutch and English beneath, (ca. 1680) * the very rare panorama based on that of Claes Jans Vissher (Amsterdam, 1616); with part of the Thames's North Bank newly engraved reflecting the post Great Fire skyline, whilst on the South Bank many of the buildings here shewn had already disappeared, framed and glazed.
