Silver section putting the shine on October auction

Bellmans Sussex are pleased to announce the extension of their October silver section, to include approximately one hundred additional lots of antique and decorative silver and plated wares.

Highlights include lot 2190, an Irish silver punch bowl with martele decoration, which is being sold with a similar punch ladle (Dublin 1904 and 1909), both retailed by Sharman. D. Neill Ltd, which are estimated to realise £400-600, and lot 2036, a set of four silver gilt place name holders or menu stands, individually enamelled with a pig, a vine leaf, a shamrock and a ladybird, which carry a guide price of £300-400.

The consistently highly achieving Silver Department holds monthly specialist sales, as part of Bellmans’ four-day Antiques and Interiors auctions. Valuer Lee Cox comments that “it is a real testament to the strength of the department (which now includes four dedicated specialists), and to the quality of the facilities and display space at Bellmans, that we are able to accommodate this exciting extension to the October auction”.

The sale is available to browse online from Tuesday 3rd October, and is on view in person from Friday 6th October. For more information, to request a catalogue or to register your interest, please contact Bellmans on 01403 700858, or email
