On Wednesday 22nd May 2013, we are delighted to offer for sale lot 333, a privately consigned 18th century Chinese white jade bowl, expected to realise between £10,000 - £15,000. The sale will commence at 11am with viewing available prior to the sale.
The bowl has deep tapering sides rising from a short foot to a straight rim and holds a Victor Rienaecker Collection paper label and stands at 6.5cm, with a 12cm diameter.
Victor Rienaecker (born 1887), was a client of London dealers Bluett`s from 1934 to 1955. The major part of his collection was sold on 14th April 1937, which consisted of Chinese ceramics from the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties and also carvings in jade, ivory, horn, soapstone and amber.
