Winchester September Interiors Auction

A 9ct gold rectangular cigarette or jewellery casket, makers mark T & S, Birmingham 1937, the hinged cover with a raised centre with a stylised leaf border, the sloping sides with leafy scrollwork to the corners, ovolo, bell-flower and leafy scroll borders, the front centred by a circular cartouche, initialled 'J' set with rose cut diamonds, on ogee feet, wood lined with lift-out gilt metal ivory silk lined tray, 22cm x 15cm x 9cm, 1685gms gross.

Condition report

Generally good condition, a few small dings to the sides, cover and feet, hinge fine and closes well. Wear and marks to the wood lining and silk.

It is not possible to remove the wooden interior to give a more accurate weight.

It is not possible to say if anything other than the interior lining is not gold. However the base and the wood lined interior tray is not gold. Stamped Turner & Simpson.
