A fine Cuban mahogany and macassar ebony bookcase, with cupboards below, by Peter Waals, 1934, the rectangular top and shaped sides with exposed dovetail and mortise joints and with four compartments over two cupboards each with double doors with central recessed square chamfered panels, and dished 'D' shaped macassar ebony handles, the whole contained within a moulded macassar ebony frame on shaped corner projecting macassar ebony feet, united by a conforming moulded stretcher, 141cm x 30cm x 104cm.

Condition report

Sun faded, especially to the front and one side.  A line can be seen running across the shelves differentiating where it has been exposed to the sun and where it hasn't.  Some scratches and a ring mark to the top.  Some light scratches and water marks to the shelves and cupboard doors.  In generally good - but used - condition.
