A small brass-bound mahogany cased two-day marine chronometer

The hinged lid centred with a shaped brass escutcheon, the front inset with a rectangular ivory panel, with shaped lock escutcheon and a brass carrying handle to each side, lacquered brass bowl, gimbals and locking lever, with 'tipsy' key, the bevelled convex glass above the 2¾ in. silvered brass dial, signed below the XII 'PARKINSON & FRODSHAM / Change Alley /London No. 456 TWO DAYS', with Roman chapters and Arabic five-minute markers, blued steel hands and seconds subsidiary, the fully signed and numbered chain fusée movement with cylindical ring-turned pillars, bi-metallic compensated balance with diamond endpiece, blued steel hairspring with double overcoil, Earnshaw spring detent escapement, (1 key, 1 case key).

Condition report

The case is in good original condition. The lacquering to the bras furniture is won in places which gives an attractive contrast. The dial silvery is mainly good, some wear at XII - II. The movement runs when wound, but would benefit from a clean. Key is possibly original.
