collation - (*)8, (*10), A-Y8, Aa-Bb8, C8, Dd-Pp8, Q2. nb. symbols * - not those used in the printing, sig. Cc printed as C, & Qq printed as Q, i.e. text & prelims. complete - but lacks 2 final leaves Q3 & Q4 (incl. imprint). Some binding wear, clasps broken/missing; title damaged & mounted (loss of first 2 words at head, & some lettering loss beneath portrait) & some sl. loss of lettering on verso, some stains & headline loss on Calendar leaves (with some edge & other tears), Table (& other) prelim. leaves reasonably good, map leaf damaged (loss top l.h. to map lettering & pt. of illus. on verso), stains & other edge tears throughout (with a few clean text tears - no loss), paper flaws (sl. loss, EI recto), some more marked stains / splashes in Pauline Epistles (esp. AaI & leaf bef.), map (Y7) v. good cond. Approx. 90 illus. in total (75 in Gospels); previous Jugge edtns. in 1552 & 1553; the Museum of the Baptist Coll. was based on Gifford's Collection - the armorial bkplt. may be a memorial one & 'Mrs. Bapt. Bristol / Gifford' are pt. of the spine lettering.
