A good Japanese Shibayama inlaid ivory two-fold table screen (Tsuitate), Meiji period, inlaid in ivory, red lacquer and mother-of-pearl with three seated figures in conversation with a nobleman, being entertained by a dancer and musician, before a vase of prunus blossom and a hanging vase filled with flowers, above a smaller panel of flowers and a fan on a kinji lacquer ground, the reverse decorated with birds and flowers against a roiro ground sprinkled with nashiji, signed Masa.... on a mother-of pearl reserve, 37.5cm. high by 37.5cm. wide unfolded. Condition report

Some lifting to the red lacquer robes on the man seated at the top of the right hand panel. Loss to the red lacquer on the bottom left edge of the robe.
