A Meissen porcelain centre piece bowl on stand, late 19th century, blue crossed swords marks, the shaped oval bowl with figural putto handles and pierced frieze, hand painted with period figures at leisure against a gilt turquoise and gilt heightened ground, raised on four shell moulded scroll feet each painted with birds, the stand of shaped rectangular form, similarly decorated and with applied flowers to the four scroll feet (a.f.), the bowl 58cm wide across the handles, the stand 46cm wide. Condition report

Base; chips and numerous losses to applied flowers on scroll legs. Small surface scratches and minor marks to top.  Bowl; one cherub handle lacking portion of hand and floral garland and flowers in hair. The other figural handle has the right arm detached but present, and also a portion of floral garland detached but present. Lacking tip of floral garland and hand. Losses to applied flowers around central painted cartouches on both sides. Other small losses to applied flowers. Minor wear to gilding. No obvious restoration, minor marks to the interior.
