Inheritance Tax (Probate) Valuations

Following the initial enquiry, details about the appointment will be taken and if necessary, a General Valuer will call you back to discuss any further requirements.
One of our General Valuers will be booked to attend your property to value selected items or a complete house contents as instructed.
A fully researched typed valuation will be produced with illustrations if requested and sent to you within two weeks of the date of the appointment.
Extra copies for co-executors can be provided at no extra cost.

Insurance Valuations

Your insurance company may recommend that you have a professional valuation document for insurance purposes. Or perhaps, you would like to have a list of the items in your home to guide you when looking to renew an insurance policy.

These valuations can be produced in various formats;

Selected Valuation; A list of items whose replacement values are over a certain amount, for example £500. Normally this is antique furniture, silver, jewellery, watches, paintings, works of art, ceramics & glass etc.

Full Valuation; the complete contents of the property as above, but this will also include an allowance per room for household furniture, carpets & curtains, books etc. And if necessary; clothing, garden machinery etc.

Two copies of the bound illustrated documents will be sent recorded delivery.

Family Division and Willing Buyer/Willing Seller

Valuations for more specific purposes to aid the division of an estate between beneficiaries can be tailored to fit your requirements.

Our Charges*

£150* for the first hour and £120* per hour thereafter.
Half day valuation (4 hours) is charged at £450* .
Full day valuation (7 hours) is charged at £750*.

*All charges are subject VAT at the current rate (presently 20%).

An additional charge for travel may be necessary depending on the time and distance taken to reach the property.

These charges may be reduced or waived subject to consignment for sale some or all of the items.
